Farook Jamal

After university Farook started in fashion retail on the Kings Road in London.

He moved to Hong Kong 20 years ago to establish an office for the Pepe Group there which grew to be one of the largest jeanswear labels worldwide at the end of the Eighties with sales of over US$350m.

Needing to get back to creating product a hands on perspective he started Purple Pin Designs in 1989 to provide private branding services in jeans, sports and casual wear.

Farook steers the company and is mostly involved in overall brand development strategies and product vision.

Richard Hobbs

After university Richard started in the jeans and sportswear business.

Before moving to Hong Kong from the UK in 1989 he worked in retail, buying, purchasing, logistics, and design management companiesincluding the Pepe group.

As Marketing & Merchandising Manager for Purple Pin since 1992 he is responsible for all aspects of sourcing, production and marketing for the company as well as the company's IT and Internet ventures.

Richard has a number of interests outside of the company, most of which involve attempts at being a good father to his two young daughters.

 

Amit Shah

Amit is currently President and was a founding Director of International News Inc. International New imports distributes and markets the brands Mecca USA, Alphanumeric, PNB Nation and International News in the USA and other key markets. Amit is also a Director of Purple Pin Designs Limited.

Amit graduated from the University of Washington, earning his Bachelor Of Arts degree in economics and political science. In 1982 he started his career in the apparel trade in the USA at Shah Safari Inc., and was Executive Vice President of Shah Safari from 1982-98.

Amit participates in various social and cultural activities in Seattle, Washington. He has served as a Commissioner on the Washington State Commission on Asian-American Affairs. A member on the Board Of Directors for Washington Women, Education & Employment - a job training program in the State Of Washington. He currently serves on the Board Of Directors of the Washington Board Of Trade.

Amit enjoys his travels and with it the food and wine.
