"Etienne Ozeki
Hong Kong-based Purple Pin Designs launched Etienne Ozeki, a premier jeanswear collection that features distinctive design, articulated detailing, natural fibres and contemporary ergonomic shapes.
The look is handcrafted, original, natural, individual and organic. All fabrics are natural fibres such as cotton, linen and hemp. Sweaters and knits are made from both wool and cotton.
“The world doesn’t need another mass jeans brand. We wanted a fresh approach and the collection is aimed at a more sophisticated denim customer,” said Farook Jamal, the managing director.
“The emphasis is on quality and the right aesthetic,” he added.
Details are casual but elegant, and stitching is of prime importance. Crinkled, painted and stone wash effects are emphasised and patchwork, printing and imperfect flocking are also strong features.
Jamal said the collection is being selectively marketed, with only a handful of independent specialty retail customers being sought as retail partners.
